Recessive Traits
Recessive Traits are genetic characteristics that are masked or not expressed in an individual who carries both a dominant and recessive allele for a particular trait. These traits are only displayed when an individual carries two copies of the recessive allele. Recessive traits can be passed down from parents to offspring, and may not be apparent in every generation depending on the dominance of other alleles.
