Rastafarian Beliefs

Rastafarian beliefs are based on a spiritual ideology that emerged in Jamaica in the 1930s. Followers of Rastafarianism believe in the divinity of Emperor Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia, whom they see as the reincarnation of Jesus Christ. They also believe in the importance of unity, love, and respect for all living beings. Rastafarians often use marijuana as a sacrament and believe in the power of natural living and the rejection of materialism. Music, particularly reggae, plays a central role in Rastafarian worship and expression.
