Rainband
A rainband is a long, narrow, elongated area of heavy rainfall and convective activity that is often associated with a weather system such as a tropical cyclone or a frontal boundary. Rainbands can produce intense precipitation, strong winds, and sometimes severe weather such as thunderstorms and tornadoes. They are commonly found in the outer regions of a tropical cyclone or along a stationary front where warm, moist air is forced to rise and condense into clouds. Rainbands play a crucial role in the distribution of precipitation within a weather system and can lead to localized flooding and flash flooding.
