Pyramids Of Giza
The Pyramids of Giza are ancient monumental structures located on the Giza Plateau near Cairo, Egypt. They are a collection of three pyramids, including the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, as well as several smaller pyramids and structures. Built as tombs for pharaohs and accompanied by mortuary temples and other funerary complexes, the Pyramids of Giza are among the most famous and iconic archaeological sites in the world. Their construction dates back to around 2580–2560 BC during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of Egypt. The Great Pyramid of Giza, also known as the Pyramid of Khufu, is the largest and most well-known of the three pyramids, standing at approximately 146.6 meters (481 feet) tall.
