Proterogyrinus Scheveningensis
Proterogyrinus Scheveningensis is an extinct genus of tetrapod amphibians that lived during the Carboniferous period. They were large, semiaquatic creatures with elongated bodies and strong limbs, resembling a cross between a salamander and a crocodile. Proterogyrinus Scheveningensis had a long tail for swimming and likely fed on fish and other small aquatic animals. Fossils of this genus have been found in Europe, specifically in the Scheveningen area of the Netherlands.
