Phellogen
Phellogen is a meristematic plant tissue responsible for secondary growth, specifically the formation of cork and secondary cortex in woody plants. It is derived from the pericycle or the epidermis and produces cells that differentiate into cork cells on the outside and phelloderm cells on the inside.
