Peramelidae
Peramelidae is a family of marsupials commonly known as bandicoots. They are small to medium-sized mammals with long snouts, sharp claws, and a pouch for carrying their young. Bandicoots are primarily insectivorous, feeding on a variety of insects, larvae, and other invertebrates. They are mainly nocturnal and have a wide distribution across Australia, New Guinea, and nearby islands. Bandicoots play an important role in their ecosystems as predators and seed dispersers.
