Paleozoology is the study of animal life that existed during the Paleozoic era, which spanned from approximately 541 million years ago to 252 million years ago. This field of study focuses on the fossil remains of ancient animals, including invertebrates, fish, amphibians, reptiles, and early forms of mammals. Paleozoologists analyze these fossils to understand the diversity, evolution, and extinction events of prehistoric animal species.
