Overcompensatory
Overcompensatory refers to actions or behaviors that are characterized by excessive or exaggerated efforts to make up for perceived shortcomings or inadequacies. This can manifest as an overly aggressive or boastful demeanor, excessive spending or materialism, or an exaggerated display of confidence or competence. People who are overcompensating may be trying to mask feelings of insecurity or inferiority, often by seeking validation or approval from others.
