Oriental Orthodoxy

Oriental Orthodoxy refers to a branch of Christian theology that encompasses the beliefs, practices, and traditions of churches that trace their origins to the early Christian communities in the Eastern Mediterranean. This branch emphasizes the importance of the teachings of the early church fathers, as well as the authority of the councils of Nicaea and Chalcedon. Oriental Orthodox churches include the Coptic Orthodox Church, the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, the Syriac Orthodox Church, and the Armenian Apostolic Church. These churches have distinct liturgical practices, theological interpretations, and ecclesiastical structures that set them apart from other branches of Christianity.
