Old English Language
Old English language refers to the early medieval form of the English language spoken in parts of what is now England and southern Scotland between the mid-5th century and the mid-12th century. It is a West Germanic language closely related to Old Frisian and Old Saxon. Old English is characterized by its use of a runic alphabet, complex inflectional system, and heavy influence from Latin and Old Norse. It underwent significant changes in pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary over time, eventually evolving into Middle English.
