Old Armenian Language
Old Armenian language refers to the historical form of the Armenian language that was spoken between the 5th and 11th centuries. It is characterized by its unique alphabet, known as the Armenian alphabet, which was created by Saint Mesrop Mashtots in the 5th century. Old Armenian language is known for its rich literary tradition, including the translation of the Bible into Armenian by Mesrop Mashtots and Sahak Partev in the 5th century. The language evolved into Middle Armenian in the 11th century, and eventually into Modern Armenian, which is the official language of the Republic of Armenia today.
