Norse Cosmology
Norse Cosmology is the belief system and worldview of the ancient Norse people, particularly the Vikings. It encompasses their understanding of the universe, including the structure of the nine realms such as Asgard, Midgard, and Hel, as well as the myths and stories surrounding the gods, giants, and other supernatural beings that inhabit these realms. The cosmology is characterized by a complex interplay of creation, destruction, and cyclical renewal, with a focus on fate, honor, and the struggle between order and chaos. Central to Norse Cosmology is the concept of Yggdrasil, the World Tree that connects all the realms and serves as a cosmic axis around which the universe revolves.
