Moral Realism

Moral realism is the belief that there are objective moral facts and values that exist independently of human opinion or belief. Proponents of moral realism argue that moral truths are universal and can be discovered through reason and observation. This perspective holds that certain actions are inherently right or wrong, regardless of cultural norms or personal preferences. Moral realism contrasts with moral relativism, which posits that moral judgments are subjective and vary depending on individual or societal perspectives.
