Monotheism Polytheism
Monotheism and polytheism are two contrasting belief systems regarding the number of deities worshipped. Monotheism is the belief in the existence of only one God, while polytheism is the belief in the existence of multiple gods or deities. Followers of monotheistic religions such as Christianity, Islam, and Judaism believe in the worship of a single, all-powerful deity. On the other hand, followers of polytheistic religions such as Hinduism, ancient Greek and Roman religions, and certain indigenous belief systems worship multiple gods and goddesses, each with their own characteristics and domains. These two belief systems have played significant roles in shaping the religious and cultural practices of societies throughout history.
