Micella
Micella refers to small spherical or ellipsoidal aggregates of surfactant molecules suspended in a liquid medium, typically water. These structures form spontaneously due to the amphiphilic nature of surfactant molecules, which have both hydrophilic (water-attracting) and hydrophobic (water-repelling) regions. Micellae are commonly used in various industrial applications, such as in detergents, emulsifiers, and drug delivery systems, where their ability to solubilize hydrophobic substances and stabilize emulsions is highly advantageous.
