Long Jump Runway
A long jump runway is a specially designed track and field runway that provides athletes with a smooth, level surface for sprinting and jumping. The runway typically consists of a straight, narrow strip of synthetic material, such as rubber or polyurethane, that is marked with distance indicators for measuring the length of the jump. Athletes use the runway to build up speed and momentum before launching themselves into the air to perform the long jump, a track and field event in which competitors leap as far as possible from a designated takeoff point. The long jump runway is an essential component of the long jump event, providing athletes with the ideal conditions to achieve maximum distance in their jumps.
