Lone Star Ticks
Lone Star Ticks are a type of tick known for their distinct white spot or "lone star" marking on the back of adult females. These ticks are commonly found in the southeastern and eastern United States, as well as parts of Mexico and Central America. Lone Star Ticks are aggressive feeders and can transmit diseases such as ehrlichiosis and tularemia to humans and animals. They are known to be particularly active in wooded or grassy areas, where they latch onto hosts to feed on blood.
