Lesser Apes

Lesser apes are a group of primates belonging to the family Hylobatidae, characterized by their smaller size compared to great apes. They are also known as gibbons and siamangs, and are native to the forests of Southeast Asia. Lesser apes have long arms, enabling them to swing effortlessly between trees in a form of locomotion known as brachiation. They are highly vocal animals, known for their complex songs and calls used for communication within their social groups. Lesser apes are primarily frugivorous, feeding on a diet of fruits, leaves, and insects. They are known for their monogamous mating system and strong family bonds.
