Late Renaissance

Late Renaissance refers to a period in European history, art, and culture that followed the High Renaissance and preceded the Baroque era. This period, also known as Mannerism, is characterized by a departure from the classical ideals of balance, harmony, and proportion that defined the earlier Renaissance. Artists of the Late Renaissance sought to experiment with form, style, and composition, often creating works that were more dynamic, emotional, and imaginative. This period saw the rise of artists such as El Greco, Tintoretto, and Pontormo, who pushed the boundaries of traditional artistic conventions and paved the way for the dramatic and theatrical art of the Baroque period.
