Kepler Laws

The Kepler Laws refer to three fundamental laws of planetary motion formulated by the German astronomer Johannes Kepler in the early 17th century. The first law, known as the Law of Ellipses, states that planets move in elliptical orbits with the sun at one of the foci. The second law, known as the Law of Equal Areas, states that a line segment joining a planet and the sun sweeps out equal areas during equal intervals of time. The third law, known as the Law of Harmonies, establishes a relationship between a planet's orbital period and its distance from the sun. These laws revolutionized our understanding of celestial mechanics and laid the foundation for Isaac Newton's law of universal gravitation.
