Islamic Salafism

Islamic Salafism is a conservative and puritanical movement within Sunni Islam that seeks to emulate the practices and beliefs of the early Muslim community, known as the Salaf. Followers of Salafism believe in a literal interpretation of the Quran and the Hadith (sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad), as well as a rejection of any innovations or practices that were not present during the time of the Prophet and his companions. Salafists aim to establish a society based on Islamic principles, often advocating for strict adherence to Islamic law and a rejection of Western influence. They believe in the concept of "tawhid," or the oneness of God, and prioritize the establishment of a caliphate ruled by a pious Muslim leader.
