Islamic Calendar

The Islamic Calendar, also known as the Hijri calendar, is a lunar calendar used by Muslims worldwide to determine the dates of religious events and observances. It is based on the cycles of the moon, with each month consisting of either 29 or 30 days. The Islamic Calendar has 12 months in a year, totaling either 354 or 355 days, which is shorter than the Gregorian calendar. The first year of the Islamic Calendar is called Hijri year 1, which corresponds to 622 AD in the Gregorian calendar, marking the migration of the Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina. The Islamic Calendar is used to schedule important Islamic events such as Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, and Hajj.
