Investment Casting

Investment casting is a manufacturing process in which a wax pattern is coated with a ceramic shell to create a mold for the casting of metal parts. The wax is then melted out of the shell, leaving a cavity in the shape of the desired part. Molten metal is poured into the cavity, filling the space left by the wax pattern. Once the metal has solidified, the ceramic shell is broken away to reveal the finished part. This process is often used to produce complex parts with fine details and tight tolerances.
