Immunotoxicology
Immunotoxicology is the study of the adverse effects of various chemical, biological, and physical agents on the immune system. This field examines how these agents can disrupt the normal functioning of the immune system, leading to increased susceptibility to infections, autoimmune diseases, and other immunological disorders. Researchers in immunotoxicology investigate the mechanisms by which these agents affect immune responses at the cellular and molecular levels, as well as strategies for assessing and mitigating their toxic effects on the immune system.
