Ice Curling Rink

An ice curling rink is a specialized playing surface for the sport of curling, typically made of carefully maintained ice with a surface that is smooth and level. The rink is divided into parallel strips known as "sheets," where players slide stones towards a target area at the other end of the sheet. The surface is regularly pebbled (small droplets of water sprayed onto the ice) and then brushed to create a specific texture that affects the movement and trajectory of the stones. The rink is surrounded by barriers to keep the stones in play and is equipped with a scoring area called the "house" at each end. Players wear special shoes with one smooth sole and one sole equipped with a Teflon slider to glide across the ice while delivering the stones.
