Hydroxytryptamines
Hydroxytryptamines are a class of organic compounds that contain a tryptamine backbone with one or more hydroxyl groups attached. These compounds are commonly found in nature and can exhibit a wide range of pharmacological effects, including but not limited to serotonin receptor agonism, hallucinogenic properties, and mood-altering effects. Examples of hydroxytryptamines include psilocybin, DMT (dimethyltryptamine), and mescaline.
