Homozygote

A homozygote refers to an individual organism that has two identical alleles for a specific gene, one inherited from each parent. This genetic condition results in the expression of a particular trait or characteristic determined by that gene. Homozygotes can be either homozygous dominant (carrying two dominant alleles) or homozygous recessive (carrying two recessive alleles).
