Data Centers

Definition of Data Centers as it relates to Technology, Cloud Computing, Virtual Private Cloud, Infrastructure as a Service

Data Centers, within the context of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), refer to physically secure locations containing computer systems, storage devices, and networking equipment necessary to support cloud computing services. These data centers are designed to provide high levels of availability, scalability, and security for virtual private clouds (VPCs) and other IaaS resources. They may be owned and operated by cloud service providers or leased from third-party colocation facilities. Data Centers in this hierarchy represent the foundational infrastructure that enables technology companies to offer Cloud Computing services such as Virtual Private Clouds and Infrastructure as a Service. By providing on-demand access to computing resources, Data Centers enable organizations to scale their operations efficiently and cost-effectively while maintaining control over their IT environments.
