Dual Language Education
Dual Language Education is a teaching approach in which two languages are used for instruction in order to facilitate bilingualism and biliteracy in students. It falls under the broader categories of Foreign Language Education and Bilingual Education, and is a specific type of Language Acquisition. This approach emphasizes additive bilingualism, where both languages are valued and developed equally. It can take various forms such as two-way immersion, where both language majority and minority students learn in two languages, or one-way immersion, where only language minority students receive instruction in a second language.
