Wilsons Warbler

Definition of Wilsons Warbler as it relates to Animals, Birds, Warblers, Songbird Genus

Wilson's Warbler is a small, brightly colored songbird belonging to the Genus "Cardellina". It can be found predominantly in North and Central America and is known for its distinctive yellow plumage and black cap. Adults typically measure between 11-12 cm in length with a wingspan of around 16-20 cm, making them one of the smaller members of the Warbler family. Wilson's Warblers are insectivorous, feeding primarily on small flying insects and spiders that they capture mid-air or glean from foliage. During the breeding season, males can be seen singing their distinctive, lively trill from exposed perches in their preferred habitat of damp thickets and brushy areas. In terms of its place within the broader hierarchy of Animals, Birds, and Warblers, Wilson's Warbler is a member of the Songbird Genus "Cardellina", which includes several other species of warblers found in North America and Central America. As such, it represents one of many fascinating and diverse members of the avian world, each occupying its own unique ecological niche within complex ecosystems.
