Modems
Modems are electronic communication devices that facilitate data transmission between computers and other network-connected devices. They serve as an interface between a computer's network controller, such as a Network Interface Controller (NIC), and a communication channel, such as a telephone line or cable connection. Modems convert digital signals from the computer into analog signals for transmission over the communication channel, and subsequently convert incoming analog signals back into digital signals for the computer to interpret. In the context of automotive systems, modems enable vehicles to connect to external networks, such as cellular networks, allowing for features like remote diagnostics, software updates, and real-time traffic information.
