Internal Hard Drives
Internal hard drives are high-capacity storage devices used within personal computers and servers to store, retrieve, and process digital information. They consist of one or more circular platters coated with magnetic material that can be magnetized in patterns to represent data bits. A read/write head on a movable actuator arm accesses the data while the platters are spinning at high speed, typically between 5400 and 10000 revolutions per minute (RPM). Internal hard drives come in different form factors such as 3.5" for desktop computers and 2.5" for laptops, with varying storage capacities ranging from several hundred gigabytes to multiple terabytes. They are a crucial component of computer systems, enabling users to store large amounts of data, applications, and operating systems securely and efficiently.
