Definition of Historic Districts as it relates to Places, City Parks, Historical Landmarks

Historic Districts: A cohesive area within a city, often listed on local, state, or national registers, possessing a significant concentration of buildings, structures, or objects united by past events or aesthetically consistent design. These districts reflect the social, political, economic, or architectural history of their communities and contribute to an understanding of American urban development. Historic Districts may include City Parks as well as other types of Historical Landmarks found within Places.
