Social Anthropology
Social Anthropology is the study of human societies and cultures, emphasizing their social and symbolic dimensions. It explores how people live in groups, organize themselves, create meaning, and interact with each other and their environment. Social anthropologists conduct ethnographic research to understand the diversity and complexity of human social life, focusing on topics such as kinship, religion, politics, economy, language, and art. They examine both material culture (physical objects and artifacts) and intangible cultural practices (customs, beliefs, values) to gain insights into the ways of life of different peoples. Social anthropology is concerned with the comparative analysis of social phenomena across cultures and historical periods, aiming to develop a general understanding of human sociality and culture.
