Table Tennis

Definition of Table Tennis as it relates to Sports, Olympic Games, Rugby

Rugby is an aggressive, contact team sport involving two teams of 15 players each (or 13 for Rugby League). The objective is to carry or kick an oval ball into the opposing team's in-goal area for a score. Matches consist of two 40-minute halves with a 10-15 minute half-time break. Table Tennis, on the other hand, is a fast-paced racket sport that requires precision and agility. It involves hitting a lightweight ball back and forth across a table using small rackets. Despite their differences, both sports share certain commonalities as part of the broader category of Olympic Games. The combination of Rugby and Table Tennis within this hierarchy may seem unusual at first glance, but it highlights the diversity of skills and physical demands required in different sports that are part of the Olympic movement.
