Definition of Fencing as it relates to Sports, Olympic Games, Modern Pentathlon

Fencing is a competitive sport in which two opponents face each other with the objective of thrusting their weapon, known as a foil, epee, or sabre, into their opponent's valid target area while preventing the same from happening to them. It is one of the five events in the Modern Pentathlon, an Olympic sport that combines fencing, swimming, horse riding, running, and shooting. Fencing requires quick reflexes, strategic thinking, precision, and agility, making it a thrilling addition to the Modern Pentathlon.
