Wrestling

Definition of Wrestling as it relates to Sports, Olympic Games, Boxing

Wrestling is a physical sport characterized by grappling techniques such as clinch fighting, throws and pins. It has been featured in every modern Olympic Games since its inception in 1896. Wrestling shares similarities with boxing, another combat sport, through the emphasis on strength, strategy and technique. However, whereas boxing primarily focuses on striking, wrestling involves taking down and immobilizing opponents using holds and locks. The discipline and skill required to excel in wrestling make it a natural fit under the broader category of sports, Olympic Games and boxing.
