Torch Relay
The Torch Relay is an integral part of the Olympic Games, symbolizing the passage of the games from one host city to another. Although it did not exist in its current form during the Ancient Olympic Games, the concept of lighting a flame as a symbol of the games can be traced back to ancient times. In this modern interpretation, the Torch Relay begins with the lighting of the flame at the site of the ancient Olympics in Olympia, Greece. The flame then travels across the host country, carried by thousands of individuals, before reaching the Olympic stadium during the opening ceremony. This tradition serves as a symbolic link between the ancient and modern games, promoting unity, peace, and friendship among nations.
