Indoor Volleyball

Definition of Indoor Volleyball as it relates to Sports, Amateur Sports, Volleyball

Indoor Volleyball refers to competitive matches played between two teams in an enclosed area, such as a gymnasium or sports hall. The court is smaller than its outdoor counterpart and features adjustable nets that can be lowered for children or players with physical disabilities. In addition, the ball used indoors is lighter with less bounce compared to an outdoor volleyball. Indoor Volleyball shares many rules with traditional volleyball but allows for more strategic play due to its enclosed space. Tournaments and leagues are popular worldwide for both amateurs and professionals.
