Definition of Logic as it relates to Science, Mathematics, Statistics

Logic, as a branch of Statistics and Mathematics, deals with principles of valid reasoning and inference. It is concerned with drawing conclusions from premises, evaluating arguments for their soundness, and understanding mathematical proofs. In Science, logic plays a crucial role in the formulation and testing of hypotheses, as well as in the interpretation of data and experimental results. It provides a systematic framework for ensuring that scientific reasoning is rigorous and defensible. Thus, while not a subcategory under Science per se, logic remains an integral tool for the scientific method.
