Definition of Nanotechnology as it relates to Science, Chemistry, Materials Science

Nanotechnology, as part of Materials Science and therefore intrinsically linked to Chemistry and Science, concerns itself with matter on an atomic, molecular, and supramolecular scale where unique phenomena enable novel applications. It is the manipulation and control of these tiny structures, down to a few nanometers in size, that forms the basis of this field. Nanotechnology allows for the creation of new materials and devices with remarkable properties, making it an essential area of study within Materials Science and beyond.
