Uninvolved Parenting
Uninvolved parenting, also known as neglectful parenting, refers to a style of parenting where parents are indifferent, unresponsive, and disengaged from their children's lives. They may provide for their basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter but do not offer emotional support, guidance, or supervision. This lack of involvement can lead to negative outcomes for children, including poor academic performance, behavioral problems, low self-esteem, and mental health issues. It is important to note that uninvolved parenting is not the same as permissive parenting, where parents are more lenient and allow their children to make their own decisions, but still maintain an emotional connection with them.
