Rap Music
Rap music, also known as hip hop music, is a genre of popular music that originated in African American and Latino communities in New York City in the 1970s. It is characterized by its use of spoken word, often rhymed and rhythmic, over a beat or musical accompaniment. The lyrics in rap music often reflect the social and political issues faced by these communities, as well as their experiences and perspectives. Rap music has since spread to become a global phenomenon, with various regional styles and subgenres emerging around the world. It continues to be an influential force in popular culture, shaping not only music but also fashion, language, and attitudes towards race and social justice.
