It focuses on identifying and maximizing movement potential, promoting physical activity, and preventing injury or disability in all age groups, including geriatric populations. Physical therapists work closely with patients to develop personalized treatment plans that may include exercises for strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination; manual therapy techniques such as massage and joint mobilization; and the use of assistive devices and technology. The ultimate goal of physical therapy is to enhance a person's functional ability, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life.
