Radios are wireless communication devices designed to transmit and receive audio signals over electromagnetic waves. They encompass various types, such as AM/FM radios, two-way radios, ham radios, and CB radios, among others. Radios serve numerous purposes, including entertainment, public safety, professional use, and amateur radio communication. Radios function by converting audio signals into electrical ones that modulate a carrier wave. The resulting signal is then broadcasted over the airwaves. A receiving radio device picks up this signal, demodulates it back into an electrical audio signal, and finally reconverts it to audible sound for the user to hear. Radios can be portable or stationary, and they vary in terms of their frequency range, power output, and reception capabilities. They are essential components of electronics and audio equipment, enabling long-range communication and broadcasting of music, news, and other audio content.
