Experiential Learning
Experiential Learning, in the context of Education, Technical Education, and Higher Education, refers to a teaching and learning approach that emphasizes direct experience and active engagement with the world as a means of acquiring knowledge, skills, and values. It is characterized by a cycle of concrete experiences, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization, and active experimentation, which encourages learners to take initiative, make decisions, and solve problems in real-life contexts. Experiential Learning promotes critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and emotional intelligence, and fosters a deep understanding of the subject matter by connecting theory with practice. It encompasses various methods such as internships, apprenticeships, fieldwork, simulations, role plays, experiments, and service learning, among others.
