Human Rights Education
Human Rights Education is an educational discipline concerned with fostering knowledge, skills, and values necessary for promoting and protecting human rights at individual, community, and global levels. It encompasses understanding the historical and contemporary contexts of human rights, as well as the social studies education that supports this knowledge. African History Education may be a specific focus within Human Rights Education, examining the unique human rights challenges faced by Africans and their historical and cultural responses to these issues. Ultimately, Human Rights Education seeks to empower learners to become active agents of change in promoting justice, equality, and dignity for all people, regardless of race, gender, religion, or nationality.
