International Education

Definition of International Education as it relates to Education, Religious Education, University Education

International education refers to the practice and study of educational systems, theories, and policies that transcend national boundaries. It encompasses various aspects of education including curriculum development, pedagogy, assessment, and policy-making with a global perspective. International education acknowledges the diversity and interconnectedness of different cultures, languages, and societies, and seeks to prepare students to engage in an increasingly globalized world. It can take place in both formal and non-formal settings, such as K-12 schools, universities, language institutes, and community organizations. International education fosters cross-cultural communication, intercultural competence, global awareness, and social responsibility, and aims to promote mutual understanding, respect, and cooperation among people from different parts of the world. It also involves the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and resources between countries and regions, and contributes to the development of a more peaceful, equitable, and sustainable world.
