Definition of Diversity Training as it relates to Education, Religious Education, Teacher Training

Diversity Training refers to the process of equipping individuals with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to understand, respect and value diversity in their personal and professional lives. It encompasses education on various aspects of human difference such as race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, ability and socio-economic status. The goal is to promote inclusivity, empathy, cultural competence and mutual respect, enabling individuals to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. Religious education and teacher training are subsets of diversity training that focus on imparting knowledge and skills related to religious diversity and effective teaching in multicultural classrooms respectively.
